Offer Coming Soon for Monroe?

Scout.com has an update on Bush receiver Donald Monroe from Richmond, Texas. He has been putting together an impressive senior season as the team's No. 1 target. Has this play led to a team extending an offer to him?

Could an offer be coming soon for Richmond (Tex.) Bush wide receiver Donald Monroe? That's a tough question to answer, but according to him a number of schools are close.

And for good reason.

"I don't have any offers yet, but North Texas and Colorado State are very close," Monroe said. "Appalachian State, Boise State, Iowa State and Texas State are showing a lot of interest too."

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Monroe said that he has not been on any visits this season, nor does he have any planned. And while that may be the case, it is likely that the talented wide out will get picked up.

In the most recent game against Elkins, Monroe was covered well for most of the game, but still managed to haul in 8 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns. On the two scoring plays, Monroe had great body control and was able to beat the defender to the ball, catching it at its highest point and snagging it out of the air.

This is exactly what the college coaches are seeing as well.

"The coaches recruiting me like how I bounced back from injury (junior year) and how aggressive I am. They like how I go up strong and get the ball," Monroe said.

Through eight games, Monroe has 37 receptions for 599 yards and 11 touchdowns.
