Evan Applegate was in Norman on Saturday for his first look at Oklahoma. The Mill Valley (KS) offensive tackle took in the Sooners' Big 12 showdown with the undefeated Red Raiders. The talented junior was impressed with everything he saw at OU.

"It was a lot of fun," he said of his visit. "I got to watch the Texas Tech game. It was a big win for them."

The 6-foot-7, 280-pound blocker got to spend some time with the Oklahoma coaching staff. After building a rapport with his prospective position coach through social media, Applegate enjoyed finally meeting him face-to-face.

"I talked with the offensive line coach for about 10 minutes," he said of Sooners assistant coach Bill Bedenbaugh. "Me and him, we talk weekly over Twitter. He sat down with me and my parents. We talked about everything, all the academics and stuff. It was great."

"He said he really liked my frame," Applegate added "He said at 270-pounds, it looks like I could carry another 30 or 40 pounds."

The Jaguars tackle enjoyed his first visit to Memorial Stadium. The Sooner faithful that filed into the building before kickoff were a big part of the experience.

"The stadium was great," he said emphatically. "Just the sheer size of the stadium was awesome. It was absolutely huge. Every seat was filled. The student section was filled way before the game."

"All their facilities were just really impressive. I loved it all."
