Utah Still Riding High For Grant

2015 OL Jake Grant visited Utah for their big win over Stanford and keeps the Utes at the top

As the 2014 recruiting cycle grinds to a close with less than 100 days until signing day, 2015 prospects are hitting the road looking for an early glimpse of the colleges that are courting them. Offensive lineman Jake Grant made the trek from Arizona to Salt Lake City a few weeks ago for Utah's biggest win in years as the Utes knocked off Stanford.

"The game was awesome. The atmosphere and just seeing how passionate that fans were was a sight to see, not to mention Utah beat Stanford. And after the game in the locker was unbelievable watching the team go crazy and singing the fight song will be something I will not forget. I was so excited when that ball sailed out of bounds to end the game and when the students rushed the field. Great time."

Grant spent a lot of time with Utah coaches, learning everything he could about the school and the program.

"On Sunday I got to have breakfast with Coach Finn and Doug Kimmel. It was awesome. I had a great time talking about the game and how my season is going. Coach Finn and I have a great relationship. We are in contact frequently and he is a great coach. I also got to talk to Coach Erickson and Coach Whittingham, and I really enjoyed that."

Utah is putting their newfound Pac 12 resources to work with an increase in recruiting tools, including graduate assistants like Kimmel, who made the trip very informative for the Grant family.

"Doug knew everything about Utah. He did an awesome job of showing me and my parents what Utah has to offer. He's a great guy."

Another one of Utah's newfound recruiting resources is their football facility, and it blew Grant away.

"The facilities were amazing. I loved them. Utah really made an great overall impression on me and my parents."

Grant is a 3 star prospect and the number 26 offensive guard in the 2015 class.
