Gray Planning Late Decision

J.T. Gray is one of the top rated available prospects in the state of Mississippi for the 2014 signing class. Gray is still getting to know most of his suitors better, but it appears all interested parties still have time to make an impression.

J.T. Gray profile

"I am still getting a lot of interest from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, ASU (Arizona State), Washington and USC.

"Everybody is still pretty much even right now."

USC was one of the first schools to offer Gray a scholarship. Despite the coaching change, the Trojans remain in the hunt.

"I thought things might change after Coach Kiffin got fired, but it hasn't." explained Gray. "They are still recruiting me real hard."

Gray reports that he has become more familiar with the opportunities he has in state at Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

"I have been talking to them a lot," said Gray of the in state rivals. "I went to Ole Miss for their last game and I had a good time.

"I am going to Mississippi State when they play Alabama and I will probably go back when they play Ole Miss."

Gray denies a leader at this point and reports that he plans to allow the recruiting process to play out a while longer.

"Everybody is still even," said Gray. "I am going to take all of my visits in January and then I am going to make my decision.

"I don't really know where I am going to go. I am still thinking about everything."

For now the three star talent is focused on his senior season.

"We have one game left against Center Hill and we're second in the district," said Gray. "We know we're going to the playoffs, but we want to keep winning.

"I feel like I have gotten better on both sides, but especially defense.

"I had been getting about ten carries on offense, but I got over 20 in the last game.

"I have been getting a lot better on defense too and I have had a lot of fun playing defense this year."

Gray is open to opportunities on either side of the ball on the college level.
