Zook Makes His Commitment

Scout.com has an update on St. Thomas athlete Chris Zook from Houston, Texas. He recently got the offer he wanted. Then he made the commitment.

Not that long ago Houston (Tex.) St. Thomas athlete Chris Zook got his first offer from Army. Then, it was not more than a week that he decided that it would be a good place for him.

On Saturday, November 2, Zook made the call to commit to the coaches at West Point.

"I love the structure and the discipline of the school. It is very unique compared to other schools," Zook said. "Also, this gives me the opportunity to give back and serve my country after graduation."

As stated in the previous Scout.com update, the scene at West Point is nothing new to the 6-foot, 185-pound Zook, as he took a few visits there over the summer. Just before this decision, Zook was taking in some Army vs. Air Force action. Then he decided that wearing the black and gold was the best fit for him.

"I have a good relationship with my recruiting coach. Just the whole program is appealing to me," Zook said.

Zook, who is averaging about seven tackles a game and has an interception, said that the Army coaches are recruiting him for the secondary, possibly as a safety Zook said.

Ahmard Vital is responsible for Midlands Recruiting, mainly covering prospects in the state of Texas. He joined Scout.com in 2005 and is the author of the newly released book, Awaken the Baller Within.
