Two favorites for LB

Citra (Fla.) North Marion junior linebacker Junior linebacker De'Amontae Jackson names his two favorites.

De'Amontae Jackson is one of the elite linebacker prospects from the Sunshine State in the class of 2014. Jackson, 6-foot-0, 240-pounds, mans the middle of the (Citra, Fla.) North Marion defense. On Friday, they got a big playoff win over Dade City (Fla.) Pasco.

"What a nice win," Jackson said. "It's been three or four years since we beat Pasco. It feels great."

Jackson played everywhere defensively, lining up at outside linebacker, inside linebacker, defensive tackle and even covering the slot receiver in space.

"Playing all over definitely keeps me competitive," Jackson said. "It also keeps me motivated. I just go out there and hustle and help the team anyway I can. Football is football and it doesn't matter the position. I just love to play the game."

According to Jackson he has scholarship offers from Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Missouri and Alabama. Miami was his first and Alabama was his last. From those he has two favorite schools.

"When I first got that Miami offer I couldn't believe it," Jackson said. "And that was such a good feeling. When Alabama offered I knew I was doing something right.

"Right now my two favorite teams are Alabama and FSU. I grew up wanting to always play for Florida State. With Alabama, they are just a powerhouse and it's the SEC."

Jackson said he plans on visiting Alabama over the summer. He went to camps this past summer at Miami, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

Meanwhile, he's hearing from other schools like Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, USC, and USF.
