Thibodeaux sets Nevada visit

Westgate (New Iberia, LA) three-star senior defensive lineman Tae Thibodeaux talks inside about next month's visit to Nevada and more. Will he visit Tulane this weekend for the Wave's final home game? What's happening in the postseason with his Westgate squad? Get the answers inside...

A few weeks ago, Tae Thibodeaux and New Iberia Senior High (NISH) three-star CB Daniel Lewis scheduled official visits to Tulane for the Wave's final home game on November 23.

Over the course of the ensuing weeks, however, the pair of three-star prospects from New Iberia's two largest schools noticed that Tulane's 2014 class began to fill up.

Moreover, there was a decline in interest from the Wave, which put the writing on the wall in a legible manner for Thibodeaux and Lewis, a pair of highly intelligent student-athletes (Harvard has offered Thibodeaux).

Thus, Thibodeaux will not visit New Orleans this weekend, although he did set an official next month (Dec. 13) at Nevada, which has offered.

"The Nevada coaches requested film of Daniel playing DB," Thibodeaux said. "I asked and Daniel said he didn't have any film at DB - just running back. I think there might have been a miscommunication, because I know Daniel played a lot of DB as a sophomore and junior.

Thibodeaux and his Westgate teammates won a Class 4A playoff opener last week at home vs. No. 17 Eunice. The No. 16 Tigers take to the road this week for a colossal challenge at No. 1 Neville.

Thibodeaux is unsure whether Lewis intends to visit Tulane Saturday.

Lewis and his teammates are alive and well in the 5A bracket, where the Yellow Jackets are seeded seventh. NISH hosts No. 10 Zachary this week. Lewis has spent the bulk of his senior campaign as NISH's feature back on offense. He's currently committed to Hawaii.
