Set with Virginia

Caanan Brown is set with his University of Virginia commitment and he has had a very good senior season at Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic.

Defensive end Caanan Brown has had a big senior season for Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic. The Marauders are still in the playoffs and face St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic this Friday night.

"Caanan has been outstanding," said John Davis, Clearwater Central Catholic's coach. "He has such a great motor. I mean he plays so hard on every down. He's going to be a heck of a player."

Brown, 6-foot-4, 235-pounds, has been committed to the University of Virginia for some time. He's hoping that all will be well in Charlottesville in regards to the Cavaliers staff.

"We are all hoping that there will be no change," Davis said. "He had a good visit to Virginia. He want to go to Virginia."

Brown has a ton of upside, as he could certainly develop into something special at the next level.

"He has a great frame and can add a ton of size," Davis said. "Caanan can be a very good edge guy at defensive end or outside linebacker. He gets after the passer and he has a chance to be really good."
