KU improves with Boateng

The Jayhawks improved their standing with cornerback Matthew Boateng after he took an official visit to the school this past weekend.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy cornerback Matthew Boateng returned from his official visit to Kansas with strong feelings about the school. His first official visit was a successful one.

"I have very solid feelings about Kansas," said Boateng. "From my experiences there, I can definitely see myself there. Kansas definitely improved in my eyes. I had a fantastic trip."

Boateng talked about the trip and some of the parts he enjoyed the most.

"I got to hang out with a lot of the players and sort of find out how they are on and off the field," he mentioned. "The campus was very appealing and convenient. I loved the place as a whole."

The coaching staff made a lasting impression on Boateng. They focused on two components they are hoping to sell the Florida cornerback on.

"The interaction with the coaches went great," Boateng admitted. "They were really cool. They mainly talked to me about the impact I could h ave on their defense. They showed me how I'd be used and why I'm perfect for them. They also sold me on playing time and it's something I'm looking for."

What's next for Boateng?

"I'll most likely name a leader after I take my official visit to Indiana," he stated. "That visit will likely take place the first week of December. I still need to confirm it, though."
