Williams, 5-foot-11, 220-pounds, made a name for himself last year in the state title game, developing a reputation as a big-game performer. He plays runningback and linebacker, and is equally adept at both spots.
"We are looking to repeat, so we come in each day and work hard to meet the goals we set earlier in the year," Williams stated. "Coming out here playing with these guys is so much fun, and I love my teammates. We know people will give us their best, so we have be ready and be more physical than our opponents."
Akron became the second team to offer Williams last week, as he had previously been offered by Florida Atlantic.
"It means a lot to get the Akron offer because that's my hometown," he explained. "I spoke with (defensive coordinator) Chuck Amato when he called me at home and told me I had the offer. I've been there for a game before, so I'm pretty familiar with their program."
"Kent State has been to a game to see me and I've heard they might be offering," Williams added. "I also still have the FAU offer and I'm considering them highly. I'm not sure about the distance from home, and I'm not sure when I will be making my decision. Right now, I'm focused on winning another state championship for my school."
