Big Time Official Visitor for the Gators

Head coach Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators are sitting on 16 verbal commitments for this year's class. Coach Muschamp and company have done a great job of balance with nine offensive players and seven on the defensive side of the ball. They are looking for more and cornerback Jalen Tabor is a huge piece of the remaining puzzle.

Jalen Tabor, the No. 5 ranked cornerback in the 2014 class, is set to make his official visit to the University of Florida this weekend. Tabor, from Washington (D.C.) Edison-Friendship Public Charter School, holds offers from many of the nation's elite programs, such as Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Florida State, Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and South Carolina.

Tabor, 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, has already made an official visit to the Terrapins. Alabama was thought to be the fall leader but Maryland has made a significant push.

Now it's Florida's turn. This is the weekend where the Gator defensive staff can devout all their attention to this coveted defensive back prospect. Getting on the field often and early could be a key factor for Tabor. Keep an eye on the Gators sending current cornerbacks Loucheiz Purifoy and possibly Marcus Roberson into this year's NFL draft, opening up immediate playing time for Tabor in the Swamp. Regardless of position Tabor is one of the top remaining targets on the Florida board.

Tabor will make his official visit to Alabama next weekend. In addition to visiting Maryland, Tabor also tripped to Arizona last month. This four-star prospect is set to announce his decision at this year's Under Armor game on January 4th.
