Sharp Honored As Houston's Best has a quick update on Summer Creek quarterback Aaron Sharp from Humble, Texas. He was recently named one of the top players in the area for his performance this past season at the quarterback position.

Around the Greater Houston area, certain names have been a known commodity for quite some time.

That would be the case when it comes to Humble (Tex.) Summer Creek quarterback Aaron Sharp. Since he was a freshman – and really broke out as a sophomore – Sharp has been a player to keep an eye on. Before it was all said and done, dozens of Division I programs were flocking to the North Houston campus to check him out.

When it was all said and done and it was down to Kansas State and Utah, the Big 12 Conference won out as the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Sharp will heading to Manhattan, Kan. But before he hangs up his cleats as a prep, he will be on stage with a handful of athletes as a nominee for the Offensive Player of the Year.

"It's a good feeling to be a top player in Houston," Sharp said.

For Sharp, his high school career was filled with plenty of milestones and accolades. But the past two seasons ended a bit premature, at least from his vantage point. Never did he downplay an opponent, but his expectations, as well as the Summer Creek fans, was to advance much further in the playoffs. This season was a second-round exit.

The numbers Sharp put up were quite impressive, throwing for 2,449 yards with 27 touchdowns to six interceptions.

Stay tuned as will follow up with Sharp this upcoming Wednesday for a recap of his official visit to Kansas State, which took place this past weekend.
