Hootie drops his pledge

Laurence "Hootie" Jones announced Wednesday that he has decommitted from Alabama because he "needs more time." TSD has all the latest on this developing story.

Laurence Jones ("Hootie") announced Wednesday on Twitter that he has dropped his commitment from Alabama because he needs more time.

Jones confirmed the news to Scout's John Garcia, which comes only a little more than two weeks after he made the pledge during a ceremony at his high school. At the time, he said he hadn't reached a decision until about 20 minutes before the ceremony started.

That final decision is still apparently up in the air, and the recruiting process will continue for both LSU and Alabama. For more on this developing story, head to the TSD Message Board.
