Da'vante Phillips - Video & analysis

Here are some video clips of Da'vante Phillips from Miami Central's state title win over Armwood. He's one of the top wide receivers in the Class of 2015 and he has committed to Florida.

Junior wide receiver Da'vante Phillips is one of many stars on the state championship team Miami Central. The Rockets thumped Seffner Armwood 52-7 last Saturday afternoon to win the 6A title.

Phillips, 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, had a nice game. He scored one touchdown and had a few big receptions. He also had a terrific punt return in the first half to set up a Central score. Just check out the highlights below and you can see what kind of athleticism Phillips has, especially on the punt return. On this play he hurdled a would-be tackler and stayed on his feet.

He's not the biggest or the fastest wide receiver but he has good size and is fast enough. The best part of his game is his physical play and strength. He can make the tough catch look easy. Phillips gets in and out of his breaks quickly and is a good runner with the ball after the catch. And as a blocker he's a very good asset on the perimeter in the run game.

Phillips made an early commitment to the University of Florida. He's a four-star recruit in the 2015 class.
