Slade
Scouting report: The measurements and the athleticism exists, but the consistency to impact the game is a work in progress.

Slade is big, long, runs wells and is explosive, but his instincts need to improve. There are times Slade tackles well and he can pursue on the back side, and while he isn't ferocious, he can disengage and make a play.

He is true to his assignments and doesn't gamble much, and he has good strength, work ethic and is a leader. Slade bends well, and that allows him to win leverage battles, but he needs to be quicker at the snap of the ball.

When it comes to areas of improvement, developing technique will be huge. He uses speed an awful lot when it comes to rushing the passer, and he usually waits for the running back to come to him before making a move. Developing more moves (swim, bull rush, rip) will make him more of a complete player.

What's to prove?: Is Slade elite? He shows flashes and his athleticism and size are there for him to be a very good defensive end, but consistency is needed. Can he hang with the elite during the week, and can he have a big impact in the game against high-caliber offensive tackles?
