USAAAB: OL Viane Talamaivao

The Corona (Calif.) Centennial four-star offensive lineman, Viane Talamaivao, talks about the Army Bowl and USC...

Corona (Calif.) Centennial offensive lineman Viane Talamaivao is one of two USC commits at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The other is Toa Lobendahn, his close friend and this week is giving them a chance to play together for the first time.

"It's been cool and a little preview of USC," said Talamaivao. "Right now, it's just me and Toa (as USC commits), and we've been playing together for a little bit at PTP (Prime Time Polynesian). It will be real fun, especially when we're in school."

Talamaivao said that the first two days of practice have been good to him.

"It's going good, I'm just trying to iron out the kinks here and there, but it's been two good days of practice. We're competing out there against the top talent in the country."

Talamaivao said he's doing a little recruiting himself but that Lobendahn is doing more.

"We're working on Damien Mama, but we'll take everybody here, everyone that is undecided," said Talamaivao. "Damien, Bryce Dixon, all the other guys still on the edge. I've been trying to recruit everyone but mostly Toa's been on the recruiting trail hard."

Talamaivao said the week has been a good opportunity to see how he stands up with the other elite players nationally.

"You get to go against people you don't see normally, so it's a nice measuring stick," said Talamaivao. "Everyone on the defensive line is like 6-8, 400 pounds. All the defensive tackles here are really good."
