Wolverines Offer Jones

Michigan extends an offer to Minneapolis Washburn (Minn.) senior running back and Under Armour All-American Jeffrey Jones.

According to a source close to Washburn High running back Jeffrey Jones, the four-star prospect and MVP for Team Nitro in Thursday's Under Armour All-American Game has added an offer from Michigan.

The 6-foot-0, 190-pound Jones has been committed to Minnesota since February, but is now considered a soft verbal since he took a visit to Iowa State and set an official visit to Florida. He said recently that he also plans to visit Michigan State.

Jones, a four-year varsity starter, was named Mr. Football in the state of Minnesota this year. He finished his career with 4,668 yards and 92 touchdowns.

On what he is looking for in making his final decision, Jones says, "I am leaving home and going to college. I want to make sure these coaches have my back no matter what. Plus, it's important that I get to know them and they get to know me."

Jones is on his way home from Under Armour and will sort through his plans including a possible visit to Michigan upon returning.
