Junior corner looking to visit

Dehlon Preston is likely one of the best corners in the west for 2015. Read on for his thoughts on Arizona, his recruitment, and more.

The Arizona coaches have mined multiple recruits out of Fresno (Calif.) Central East and, with the 2014 class almost wrapped up, those same coaches have turned their attention to a 2015 prospect from the same school.

Dehlon Preston was one of Central East's better defenders this past season and the 5-foot-9, 165-pound corner came away pleased with how he performed.

"We ended up losing to Bakersfield and they won state, so it wasn't that bad," Preston said. "But I played pretty well. I got quite a few tackles and forced eight turnovers."

Preston's dynamic defensive presence has attracted the attention of recruiters.

"I'm hearing from California, Washington, San Jose State and Arizona," Preston said. "I'm happy because those are all good schools and they are fairly close to home."

With so many of his teammates heading to Arizona, Preston is keeping a close eye on the school.

"I've got some inside information about Arizona," Preston. "All of my teammates have had good things to say about Arizona and their coaches.

"These are guys who could have gone to a lot of really good places. With that in mind, I wouldn't mind checking the school out."

A trip to Florida State also appears to be on Preston's agenda.

"I think I'm going down there for a summer camp and I'm pretty excited about it," Preston said. "First of all, they're the national champion and traveling down there will be pretty cool to just see what is going on.

"In the meantime, I'm just going to keep working at everything and I'm guessing the schools will come. I've learned the process from some good guys."
