USAAAB Combine: Weathersby Has Confidence has the update on Westfield offensive lineman Toby Weathersby from Spring, Texas. Weathersby is a player to keep an eye one as he has not yet hit the recruiting radar just yet. But soon it enough it is likely to happen. He shared a few of his thoughts after a successful showing in San Antonio.

If there is one of many traits that will help any student-athlete is confidence.

When a player has the ability to have great self-awareness and can have a positive attitude about what they have done, and continue doing, it usually bodes well for them. That is the case in Spring (Tex.) Westfield offensive lineman Toby Weathersby.

"I did pretty good for my first year on varsity, if you ask me and my coaches. I watched the film and everything I've done, from me jumping from the junior varsity red team to varsity as a junior, it is pretty good," Weathersby said.

So good that the first-year lineman has already been extended an offer this past season from Wake Forest. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Weathersby is hoping for more as he got the year started ion the right track performing at the US Army All-American Combine in San Antonio, Tex. during the first weekend of the new year.

He ran a 5.1 40-yard and a 4.7 in the shuttle, to go along with a nice showing in the one-on-one drills. Most of what is done in the combine setting is pass pro against the defensive lineman and ends. This is an area where Weathersby said he needs to improve.

One prominent Big 12 program told him the same.

"Oklahoma is looking at me. The coaches like my run blocking and they want me work on my pass blocking," Weathersby said. "Right now, I still have the one offer from Wake Forest."

There's no debating whether Weathersby can handle run-blocking duties. This past season, he was a key member of an offensive line that helped the team finish 13-1. As a unit, they ran for over 250 yards per game and had two players rush for over 1,000 yards.
