Green Enjoys Early In State Interest

The Cobras of Wesson did not have the strongest of seasons in 2013. A senior class lead by Farrod Green will look to change Wesson's fortunes in 2014. In addition to going out on the right foot on the high school level, Green hopes to catch the eye of several college recruiters over the course of the year in hopes of chasing his college football dreams.

"I am hearing from Mississippi State, ULL, ULM, Missouri and Cincinnati," said Green. "I camped at Mississippi State, Southern Miss and the combine at Copiah (Academy)."

Green was able to take in a pair of in state football games this fall as he attempted to learn more about one of his suitors.

"I went to the Mississippi State game when they played Alabama and I went to the Egg Bowl," said Green. "It was exciting.

"They told me that they want me to go ahead and take the ACT, so I can get my score.

"They want me to come up to their junior day that they are having soon.

"They have been on me pretty heavy."

Green is patiently awaiting his first offers, but reports that he is not just sitting by the phone waiting for those offers to come.

"I am ready to get into spring practice," said Green. "We have a lot of work to do to get better.

"Right now, I am playing basketball and that's going pretty good.

"I am averaging about 12 points a game and I think we're 10-6 right now.

"We have a big district game coming up against Hazlehurst this Friday.

"Once we get into the summer, I want to go to camps at Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Auburn.

"After that, I will just be getting ready for the season."
