Winters Talks Visits; Final Three

Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards High School defensive end Markel Winters talks to Scout.com about his official visits. The 6-foot-3 and 230-pound senior tripped Middle Tennessee last week and will visit Marshall this weekend.

Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards High School defensive end prospect Markel Winters has narrowed his list of potential college choices to three schools. The 6-foot-3 and 230-pound senior is taking the second of his three January official visits this weekend to Marshall who is one of three schools still involved in the senior's recruitment.

"Right now I am deciding between Middle Tennessee, Marshall and Florida Atlantic," said Winters prior to his trip to Marshall.

Last weekend Winters took an official visit to Middle Tennessee.

"My visit to Middle Tennessee was very nice. I like their facilities and also liked what they had to offer academically. I also like what they can do for me as far as my development on the field," said Winters of his weekend in Tennessee.

Winters is looking forward to seeing the Marshall campus this weekend.

"I am heading to Marshall today. I like how hard they have been recruiting me and like what I have learned about their academics. It should be a good trip," explained Winters of his interest in the Thundering Herd.

Next weekend Winters will make his last official visit and then make his decision shortly after returning home to Tallahassee.

"I like the same things about FAU that I like about the other two schools. They have been after me about coming down for an official visit. They are close to home and they are an up and coming program and they also have great academics. I will make my decision after I get home from my visit to FAU," finished Winters.
