Gray Readies for Final Visit

The winding road to major college football is about to come to an end for three star standout J.T. Gray. The versatile Gray took an official visit to Iowa State over the weekend. Mississippi State will have the honor of hosting the Clarksdale High All-Star this weekend. While many of his peers are looking to make a signing day announcement, Gray reports his decision should come before then.

"Things are going good for me right now," said Gray. "I am pretty happy with how recruiting has worked out.

"I am ready to see what all is going to happen this weekend and that should sort of set everything off."

Gray and his father just got back from an official visit to Iowa State where he was hosted by Clarksdale native Jordan Harris.

"I had a good time up there," said Gray of ISU. "It was a different atmosphere than I am used to, but I liked it.

"I got to see everything and I got to have a good time up there.

"Jordan showed me around and we just hung out and had fun."

In state favorite, Mississippi State, plans to roll out the Maroon carpet for Gray this weekend.

The staff in Starkville reached out to Gray earlier today to shore up their plans for the weekend.

"Coach Dan Mullen and Coach (Deshea) Townsend called me today and talked with me about the visit," said Gray. "Coach Mullen was talking to me about academics and what all I could expect during the visit.

"Coach Townsend said that he's looking forward to having me down there."

Heading into the weekend, the Bulldogs appear to be the team to beat.

"Mississippi State is the top school," said Gray. "I am just waiting to see what happens this weekend on the visit.

"I hope things go good, because I want to be able to make a decision this weekend."
