Last fall, D.J. Daniels led Wilson (N.C.) Fike to an 11-2 record. The 2016 quarterback spoke with Scout.com about the latest developments in his recruitment.
had a breakout season last fall. Now, the talented signal caller's recruitment is starting to gain momentum.
"Recently, I got a letter from Northwestern," said the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Daniels. "Coaches from Duke, North Carolina and N.C. State have also come by to talk to my coach.
"I've also gotten some mail from Georgia and Florida State. Out of all the schools, I would say N.C. State has shown the most interest."
The Fike standout is looking forward to taking some college visits.
"I'm visiting N.C. State this weekend for their junior day," he said. "I'm also going to visit North Carolina and Duke.
"This summer, I'm probably going to camp at Duke, Carolina, State and ECU."
Despite his success last season, Daniels is not satisfied.
"My main focus is improving my footwork and I'm trying to get quicker," Daniels said. "I know more is going to be asked me next year. I have to take more control of the offense and we want to put more points on the board."
During his sophomore season, Daniels threw for 1,350 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushed 64 times for 266 yards and three touchdowns.
