Alexander signs with Stanford

River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian cornerback Terrence Alexander will play college football at Stanford.

On Wednesday morning, Terrence Alexander chose Stanford over Notre Dame and Ole Miss.

"For the next four years of college, I'll be playing football and furthering my education at Stanford University," said the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Alexander on ESPNU.

The Cardinal had been one of Alexander's top schools for a long time and the combination of academics and athletics was the difference.

"Stanford has been in my top three the whole three years of my recruiting process," he said. "They've been trying so hard to get me accepted into the school, and I feel they give me the best opportunity to be successful in the classroom and on the football field."

What former Stanford player does Alexander want to pattern himself after?

"That's an easy one – Richard Sherman," he said.

Alexander is the three-star prospect and the 40th-ranked cornerback in the 2014 class.
