"Coach (Eric) White just messaged me on Facebook," Love said. "He just started talking to me and eventually came out and said it. They said I would fit into their offense really well. They need a player like me, more or less. That I could do big things there."
When Love was contacted by Syracuse, it caught him off guard. It was the first time he had heard from the Orange, and he plans on giving them a serious look.
"I was surprised," Love said. "I know it's a real good school and a great opportunity. They definitely have a shot. I'm definitely going to start doing my research into them and learn more about the program."
Love is a speedster, with a self-reported 40-time of 4.30 seconds. One of the things that stands out about Syracuse is the indoor stadium and the Carrier Dome turf that could help accentuate his already blazing speed.
"That is attractive," Love said. "I know it's real nice up there. Being able to play in the Dome, it's real, real nice. I feel like it would really help. Especially for a guy like me."
Love also plans on visiting Syracuse to check out the campus and football program in person.
"Yeah at some point," Love said. "Maybe during the spring or during the summer."
When the four-star prospect does make his final decision, he knows what he's looking for in the potential right fit.
"Education is first," Love said. "A real good atmosphere, a good program, good coaches. Just a place that I could call home for the next four years."
