Junior Tight End Talks Buckeye Offer

Columbia (TN) Central junior tight end added another offer to his collection, this one from Ohio State. He discusses his thoughts on the Buckeyes.

Columbia (TN) Central junior Jackson Harris is a prospect that only had a few offers during the summer. That has changed drastically as Harris has more than tripled that number.

His most recent offer has come from Ohio State. He talks about his thoughts on the Buckeyes entering the fold for him.

"It's a big offer," Harris said of Ohio State. "I'm excited about it. It's a great option to have."

Not all but most of the programs have offered Harris as a tight end. Ohio State made it known that he would play tight end in Columbus if he chose the Buckeyes.

"They were clear that I was offered as a tight end," he noted. "All my offers are as a tight end except two. Georgia Tech likes me as an offensive tackle and Northwestern likes me as a defensive end."

Ohio State offering Harris wasn't the first interaction he's had with the coaching staff in Columbus. They had been in contact going back to last summer when he visited the campus.

"They have told me that I'm a high priority in the class," he mentioned. "Coach Hinton has been recruiting me for a long time so I was familiar with Ohio State before the offer was sent."

Harris was told of the Buckeyes' plans at the tight end position in the 2015 class.

"Coach Hinton has told me that they've only offered three tight ends in the class," Harris stated. "They plan on taking two tight ends in this class according to them and they hope I'll take one of the spots."
