Coleman Feeling Early Connection

Ohio defensive back Nick Coleman is feeling a solid connection with the latest program to offer him a scholarship.

With a former Duke Blue Devils player heading up Kettering (Ohio) Alter defensive back Nick Coleman's recruitment, the ACC program might be off to a strong start in possibly landing the 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back.

"I talked with Coach (Re'quan) Boyetter and he told me a little bit about himself," said Coleman. "He said he went to Duke from 2005-2009 and then was a grad assistant there. After six months, he got hired as the running backs coach there.

"He's young and he said the whole staff is young. I like him a lot and we talked for 45-minutes and it didn't even seem like 45-minutes."

The Blue Devils assistant wasted little time in getting to know more about his target.

"He talked with my mom and dad and talked about Duke in general and when he wants to get me down there," explained Coleman. "I could have gone down to the Syracuse game this Saturday and that would have been perfect as I would have gone to a spring practice and then probably walked around Duke a little big before going to the game.

"But, being a fellow basketball player, we have a game and hopefully we'll win on Thursday and we'll probably have practice on Friday. So that was pretty much out. So I might go to the North Carolina game in like two weeks. So I might go to that but if all else fails, I'll be down there in the spring sometime."
