Michigan offers Louisiana OL

John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, LA) has sent a player to Michigan in the past - RB Chris Howard - and now the Wolverines are pursuing four-star sophomore offensive tackle Willie Allen from the New Orleans metro area powerhouse program...

Willie Allen explained how things went down when he got his Michigan offer.

"Coach Jeff (Curtis) called me into his office and told me they wanted to offer," he said. "I called Coach (Fred) Jackson and he said I'm very athletic and that they can use me. He wants me to come up there and to build a relationship with me.

"He told me to keep working. If Michigan feels like home, then I'll be interested. If I'm not happy somewhere in college then what's the point of being there? As long as my family can get there to see me play I have no problem with going away for school."

What does Allen know about the Wolverines?

"I've seen them play on TV," he said. "I hear they're 10th in the nation with academics, which would place them near Harvard."

LSU and Florida are two more offers that Allen has under his belt. He attended junior day with the Tigers last weekend, and the staff informed him that his offer was official.

The big lineman sat out his freshman year on the football field after transferring to Curtis. He helped the Patriots to a state championship in December.
