King Quickly Rising

He's 6-foot-6, 250 pounds and already causing a splash on the recruiting trail, sophomore Hinsdale South (Ill.) defensive end Josh King picked up several offers and talks about it inside.

Hinsdale South (Ill.) sophomore defensive lineman Josh King is a prospect to watch over the coming years.

King has received interest offers from Iowa, Michigan and Notre Dame at this point. The first to offer the sophomore standout was the Hawkeyes.

"I was pretty excited at first," King said. "I knew once the first offer came there would be many more after it so I am trying to stay mellow."

And as for the Hawkeyes, King knows there is a lot to like about his first offer.

"I like Iowa a lot, they have a great football program and that is one thing I will look for when I am deciding on a college," King said. "And they are pretty excited about me up there. And I just can't wait to get down down to the campus. That's the only thing I haven't done."

"Well it was Iowa first then UIC took an interest in me," King said. "Then Michigan offered and Notre Dame was recently, I just talked to the coach a few days ago."

What makes King so special on the field? Plenty of schools seem to agree on that fact.

"All of the schools have seen my highlights and my game footage," King said. "Usually the feedback are things like they like my strength and how fast I get off the ball. And how quick I get to the tackle and my speed on the field."

Michigan was the second to offer

"I don't really know much about Michigan," King said. "I talked to the coach a few times and he seemed pretty eager and excited me down to see the Michigan campus."

The latest in a line of offers for King was Notre Dame.

"That one is great, it's a college I've really liked for a long time," King said. "I was really surprised when the coach contacted me, needless to say I was very happy."

Several other schools that King has heard from are Florida State, USC, Michigan State, Cincinnati, and Ohio State.
