Over the past couple of months, 6-foot-4, 215-pound junior Rashod Berry has picked up offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State and Toledo. In the first week of March, the junior added his first BCS offers to that list.
"Illinois and Iowa offered me," said Berry. "They were both surprises."
"Illinois coach (Mike) Ward just said that they were giving me a full ride and that he was coming to see me this week sometime. Iowa's coach (Jim) Reid said that I had a full ride and they want me to come down to go visit," he said.
With both offers coming as surprises to the junior, he's still in the process of learning about the schools. He does appreciate how much interest the programs are showing in him.
"I don't know too much about them, but I like how both coaches really want to get to know me more and know the schools more," said Berry. "I'm very interested in both schools."
Berry hasn't visited either school yet, but is hoping to get there soon.
The junior says that having his recruitment pick up is exciting, especially having his first BCS offers come in.
"It feels great," he said.
