Ramone Kelly (6-foot-1, 210-pounds) is an aggressive, attacking prospect at linebacker. The Doss Dragon prides himself on getting after the ball and stifling the offense's success.
"I consider myself as an aggressive, fast playing linebacker. And I always get to the ball. I try to make the right plays and try to limit my mistakes on the field," Kelly said.
"I come down hard (to the line of scrimmage) and always make sure I'm the first one to the ball," Kelly continued. "I try to play fast and try to do what I can to keep the other team from scoring."
Kelly had a solid season as a junior, picking up 80 tackles, but he felt like he could have done more for his defense.
"I think I played very well. I could have played better. I could have had more tackles. I know what I have to do to play better next season," he continued.
Kelly has attracted attention from a handful of schools and visited a couple of schools recently.
"I went to Indiana. Everything there went fine," Kelly said. "Me and my family really enjoyed our time there. I like how the coaches are just like regular people. They treated us like the players who are already on the team," he said.
Kelly also went to Western Kentucky.
"It was the same at Western as it was at Indiana. They treated us good. They treated us like their players. It was nice there," he finished.
Kelly is at Illinois this weekend for another Junior Day. Scout.com will keep you updated on the latest with Ramone Kelly.
