Miami CB discusses Louisville offer

Carlton Davis, a cornerback from Miami (Fla.) Norland, has collected 15 scholarships to date. The three-star prospect discusses his recent offer from Louisville.

Rated as an early three-star cornerback by Scout.com, Carlton Davis of Miami (Fla.) Norland is one of the more sought-after defensive backs in the nation. His list of 15 scholarships is impressive and growing.

"It's a great feeling to be getting the scholarships that I am," Davis said. "I'm happy. It's exciting to see that I was able to accomplish."

Davis recently added Louisville to his list of offers, which also includes the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Miami, South Carolina, among others.

"I was excited about it," he said of the Cardinals offer. "Our school has an alumni up there right now, Keith Brown. I know that they have a lot of Florida boys up there."

U of L wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas is the primary recruiter for Davis.

"He's a funny guy," Davis said. "I know that he's a former football player and he has great character."

While familiar with the Cardinals program, the recent change at head coach has the 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect curious to see the difference this fall.

"They had a recent coaching change, so I want to see how their season goes," he explained. "A lot of guys like up it up there, but I want to see what kind of difference the change makes."

Not in a hurry to make his college decision, Davis will be keeping an eye on a number of programs during the coming season.

"I have a top five right now, but it's not official or anything like that," Davis said. "Right now, Florida, Alabama, LSU, Miami and South Carolina are my top five."

There's still plenty of time for others to climb his list. He'll be looking for those that match what he is looking for in a school.

"I want whoever it is to meet my criteria," he continued. "Education is important, so is a positive environment and to have a great upcoming season."
