East Texas Weekly Recruiting Notebook

East Texas saw two new offers and one commitment occur during the past week.Scout.com recaps the action in the Piney Woods that went down March 10-16.

Perhaps the biggest news out of East Texas this past week came Friday, when Tyler Lee 2015 linebacker Brandon Durman committed to Louisiana Tech.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Durman already held a Louisiana Tech offer before visiting the Ruston, La., campus over the weekend, starting with Friday's spring practice. Durman, who's excited to play for new defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, decided to go ahead and commit to the Bulldogs.

"Coach Diaz talked to me about early playing time and I really love the motivation he gives the whole defense," Durman said. "I wouldn't wanna play anywhere else.

Two offers went out during the past week, starting with an early-week offer for a recent East Texas commit to the SEC.

Nacogdoches 2015 cornerback Jaylon Lane, who recently pledged to Ole Miss picked up an Oklahoma State offer to push his offer list two four: Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Louisiana Tech, and South Alabama. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Lane should see his offer list grow significantly in the coming weeks and months as word spreads on the rangy, long-limbed cover man.

The second offer arrived for Lufkin offensive lineman Erik McCoy, who reported an Arkansas State offer Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound McCoy already held a Houston offer and should become one of East Texas' most sought-after front-line prospects in the 2015 class.
