Several schools interested in Leota

Pete Leota is a prospect on the rise. The 2016 Asheville (N.C.) offensive lineman spoke with about his recruitment, future and more.

"I'm hearing mostly from local schools like Clemson, North Carolina, N.C. State and ECU," said Pete Leota. "I've also gotten mail from Florida State, USC, Stanford and Cincinnati."

Earlier this month, he took his first college trip of the year.

"I visited Clemson on March 8," said the 6-foot-5, 282-pound Leota said. "It was a cool place and they have very nice campus.

"It was their first day of hitting, too, so it was exciting to be down there. My favorite parts of the visit were seeing the hill that they run down and the locker room."

While on campus, he had a chance to speak to a few of Clemson's coaches.

"I had a chance to speak with the defensive tackles coach (Dan Brooks) and the head coach (Dabo Swinney)," he said. "They were just telling me to come down for their spring game, so I'm going back down for that."

Besides Clemson, Leota mentioned possibly visiting East Carolina in the near future.

In regards to summer camps, the talented offensive lineman said he would like to go to Florida State, Clemson and Stanford.

He has high hopes for his junior campaign.

"We want to go all the way," Leota said. "It's going to take a lot of effort and teamwork. And we just have to believe in each other.
