"Right now, I get a good feel from BYU and Colorado," said Otukolo.
Otukolo said three schools were standing out to him.
"My top three is Colorado, Missouri and Cal," said Otukolo.
Otukolo is LDS but said he's uncertain about his mission plans. He does hope BYU extends an offer, though.
"BYU has a lot of die-hard fans and they're a team I've always watched and really like," said Otukolo. "I'm still think about my mission, I just don't know what I'll do yet."
Otukolo plays middle linebacker for the Gaels and that's where Hawaii offered him, but he said he can play any linebacker spot.
"I can play both, and I'm more of a hybrid, but I think I'm better at middle linebacker," said Otukolo.
At just a shade under 6-0 tall, Otukolo said he's pretty sure that passing that barrier could open things up for him.
"A lot of times, I feel like that is scaring coaches away," said Otukolo. "So I make up for it in my style of play. It gives me a lot of chips on my shoulder. I see a lot of dudes running around and all they have on me is height."
Otukolo said he plans to go through the whole process.
"I want to keep my options open and enjoy the recruiting process right now," said Otukolo.
Academically, Otukolo has a 3.0 and took the SAT earlier this month.
