Hinton down to two

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Kendall Hinton was one of the top quarterbacks at last Saturday's Charlotte NFTC. Scout.com caught up Durham (N.C.) Southern signal-caller.

Over the past several months, Kendall Hinton has seen his recruitment gain momentum. Now, he is focused on two schools.

"Duke and N.C. State are still my top two," said the 6-foot, 185-pound Hinton. "You could probably say I'm down to those two schools. Those are my top two because of the relationships I have with the coaching staffs."

Which will he visit next?

"I haven't really decided yet," Hinton said. "I'll probably go visit Duke again soon, and I also want to go to back to N.C. State sometime soon, too."

He has an idea of when he will make his college decision.

"I'm really going to start trying to focus on my decision during June and July," he said. "I want to make my decision before my season. Right now, it's really a toss-up between those schools."

After leading his team to a state championship, he has high goals for his senior campaign.

"Individually, I just want to put up big stats," Hinton said. "But most importantly, I want to win another state championship. It's going to take the same dedication and hard work we put in last year."

Last season, Hinton finished with 3,975 yards passing and 39 touchdowns and 1,185 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns.
