2016 First Look: Wisconsin

An early look at some of the sophomore standouts in the Badger State to know about, lead by Arrowhead's Ben Bredeson, who is already pulling in the offers.

As always, we expect more kids to emerge through the summer months and into the Fall, so this is anything but a complete list, but here are some prospects who have made noise already at the varsity level and who caught our eye on film.

Ben Bredeson, Offensive Tackle | Hartland Arrowhead
Outstanding prospect with good technique, tenacity and athleticism. He has started for Arrowhead's varsity since his freshman year. Already holds multiple BCS offers and should have more by the time it is all said and done.

Tristian Pipp, Linebacker | Greendale
Had a good sophomore year and is only going to keep getting better. Has the frame to add more weight (6'3, 210) and has a real nose for the football.

Max Meylor, Quarterback | Mount Horeb
Passed for over 2500 yards and 24 touchdowns in the Fall. Impressive touch and accuracy for a young kid, shows good toughness in the face of pressure as well.

Blair Mulholland, Running Back | Kimberly
Slippery back who breaks a surprising amount of arm tackles for a 180-pound kid. Has good burst and breakaway ability as well, but best part about him is he runs very hard.

Hunter Toppel, Defensive Tackle | Deforest
Outstanding wrestler who could play either side of the ball in college. 6-foot-4, 265-pounds right now

Toren Young, Running Back | Monona Grove
Built beyond his years (5'11, 200), Young rushed for nearly 1,500 yards last season showing the ability to run downhill but also the speed to get outside.

Jack Popp, Wide Receiver | Mequon Homestead
Big, physical receiver who is also being recruited in basketball. Uses that ability to go up and outbody defenders for the ball and is solid after the catch as well.

Aaron Maternowski, Defensive Lineman | Slinger
Not the biggest kid right now at 6-foot-1, 240-pounds but is in the backfield a lot and plays with great motor and tenacity. Reminds me a little of David Pfaff in this year's class.
