Four-star Jacksonville (Ill.) High offensive tackle Gabe Megginson is one of the most talented players in Illinois in the 2015 class. He has been in touch with Syracuse in the past, but recently added an offer from the ACC school.
"I've talked to Eric White once or twice in the past," Megginson said. "He let me know they were very interested and they'd let me know and it finally came. The offer really came out of nowhere.
"My coach actually texted me and let me know not too long ago. It was just that simple."
Shortly after receiving the offer, Megginson called White to discuss Syracuse.
"We talked about the opportunities Syracuse could give me," Megginson said. "And the offensive line success they've had recently. We talked about a visit. I'd like to see if I can get up there. He said anything this spring will be great."
"I'm definitely considering them as of now," Megginson said. "I'd like to get to know more about them. I was excited (when they offered). I know they're a great and they're doing good things recruiting wise.
"I don't have any favorites right now. But I'm really starting to narrow it down. I'd like to get out there (to Syracuse) and see what it's about before I judge where they stand."
The Orange may not have much time to act as the four-star prospect wants to make his decision by the end of May.
