While the talent will be in abundance for the Houston Nike Football Training Camp on Sunday, there is clear distinction that one position is top heavy as well as deep.
Looking at the event's defensive backs reads like a who's who as college coaches from across the country will be going after more than a few of the players in attendance.
Here's a quick look…
Highest Rated Safeties
****S Deionte Thompson – West Orange Stark (2015)
The long time Alabama commitment is ranked No. 2 in the country at his position, and for good reason. Thompson is great in coverage and comes down hill with the best of them. He will be one of the best, if not the best out of the safeties.
****S Deontay Anderson – Manvel (2016)
Though he's not yet been offered, it will only be a matter of time until Anderson starts getting them in at an alarming rate. Like Thompson, Anderson has a rangy build and will come down and lay a hit on you. He's also good in coverage.
Other Top Safeties
S Brandon Jones – Nacogdoches (2016)
S Kenneth McGruder – Alief Taylor (2015)
S Jameel Cook – Ridge Point (2015)
Highest Rated Cornerback
**** CB Holton Hill – Houston Lamar (2015)
Without question, he is the best cornerback in the area, and arguably at the camp. He has the ability to press or play off the receiver. It will not be a surprise to see Hill be dominant on Sunday. In fact, it's sort of expected.
Other Top Corners
CB William Henderson – Katy Seven Lakes (2015)
CB Niko Johnson – Cypress Ranch (2015)
CB Jacorie Jones – Port Arthur Memorial (2015)
CB Jaylon Lane – Nacogdoches (2015)
CB Trey Spencer – West Orange Stark (2015)
CB Willie Sykes – Spring (2015)
CB Keith Washington – Brazoswood (2015)
CB Jared Mayden – Sachse (2016)
