"Arizona's offensive line coach called me and he was talking about the good parts of playing in Arizona," McClatcher said. "I love the sun and he said right now that it is sunny down there. Up here it is rainy, so that is something I will have to look at as well.
"He said anytime I want to go visit there I am more than welcome and they will show me around the campus and just show me what life is like."
While Arizona is one of the more prominent schools to offer McClatcher, it will be important to get him down to Tucson sooner rather than later, because he put up big numbers and gained attention this past season.
"Sometimes it's weird because you're running around in mud, but it all evens out because everyone is playing on the same surface," he said. "I finished with around 2,500 all purpose yards and 32 touchdowns.
"My team lost some talent the previous year, so we kind of went into the season and played all year as the underdog and we surprised some people with how we did."
McClatcher still isn't sure what the next step in the recruiting process entails.
"It was great to get the Arizona offer and I want to hear from more schools, but there isn't really any school that is above all the others," McClatcher said. "Plus, I don't have any camps planned right now. We'll just have to see where everything leads."
As McClatcher remains patient, he knows what he is looking for in a school and an idea of when his recruitment will end.
"I will say I want to go to a place with a wide open offense and a coach who I trust," he said. "Those are really important things. Since I haven't started looking at schools, I plan on taking my time and probably waiting until the last minute because I have a lot of stuff to decide on."
