Houston NFTC: Top Underclassmen

There was a talented group of underclassmen on hand in Houston as two Class of 2016 recruits took home MVP honors at their position...

DE Nikolas Daniels - Clear Creek (Texas) HS
Takes home defensive line MVP honors after terrorizing offensive linemen in the one-on-one session. He is lightning quick off the edge as a speed rusher.

S Deontay Anderson - Manvel (Texas) HS
Took home defensive back MVP honors after a strong showing in the testing, drill work with the coaches and strong showing in the one-on-ones.

RB Kameron Martin - Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial
Martin is a great all-around talent. He looks the part and was up there at the top of all the running backs in attendance.

WR Courtney Lark - Bellaire (Texas) HS
Lark is abit on the thin side, but long and athletic are two attributes that come with his lanky frame. Has good hands, making tough catches.

DT Ed Oliver - Spring (Texas) Westfield
Oliver is a beast. He is a compact 265 pounds, all muscle on his frame. Had his way with offensive linemen in the one-on-one drills.

LB Michael Divinity - John Ehret (La.) HS
Was one of the best overall linebackers regardless of class. Good size as well as the ability to move around in the open field. bet he is fun to watch in pads.

TE Jamal Pettigrew - St. Augustine (La.) HS
Not knowing much about him it was not surprise to learn he had already been extended an offer. Has some nice skills and with development could really climb the rankings ladder.

DL Briston Guidry - Archbishop Rummel (La.) HS
This kid is going to be a big-time player. He has nice size and is a bit of hybrid between DE and DT. But he is quick off the ball and powerful. Will end up getting a lot of offers.

S Brandon Jones - Nacogdoches (Texas) HS
Much like Anderson, it is easy to see why Jones is a highly regarded prospect at the safety position. Good size and the ability to patrol the middle.

CB Jared Mayden - Sachse (Texas) HS
Mayden showed some grit by working through some back pain, but still showed above average closing speed on a frame that can handle big receivers.

QB Jalen Hurts - Channelview (Texas) HS
Am intriguing prospect who has the tools to develop in to a recruit that division one schools will want to recruit. Definitely on the 2016 watch list.

RB Sewo Olonilua - Humble (Texas) Kingwood
Coming in to the camp he had a film that was interesting and he passes the eye ball test. Will need to continue to work on speed and quickness, but a big, powerful style RB.
