Three-star tackle Julian Good-Jones is making the Iowa circuit this spring.
Good-Jones, who picked up an offer at the Cyclones' March 8 Junior Day, was back in Ames on Monday to take in Iowa State's practice. He's hardly finished with the trips.
"It was good, I've never been able to one of their spring practices," Good-Jones said. "I liked being able to see them.
"I like [new line coach Brandon Blane] a lot. He's a real enthusiastic guy, great coach. Has NFL experience, so that's really important. I talked to him for a little after practice was over and I talked to Coach [Paul] Rhoads while they were doing drills."
The Cedar Rapids (IA) Washington product wants to stay in the state and is choosing between the Cyclones and Hawkeyes, should the latter offer. Iowa did invite Good-Jones to a practice this weekend and a Spring Game the next.
"I figure I'll talk to them about that this weekend," Good-Jones said.
Good-Jones has also signed up for a Hawkeyes camp in early June. If at some point Iowa, which has three committed linemen in its 2015 class, does offer, Good-Jones anticipates a tough decision.
"Iowa State really got after me first," he said. "The first letter I ever got from any schools was from them."
