Junior Film: WR Tyron Johnson

Scout presents junior highlights of four-star receiver Tyron Johnson out of New Orleans (LA) Warren Easton Charter, plus some insight from regional recruiting analyst Mike Coppage...

A Scout100 receiver, New Orleans (LA) Warren Easton Charter's Tyron Johnson is the top 2015 prospect in Louisiana.

Sitting at over 20 offers, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect is on big boards of teams including Alabama, Texas, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, UCLA, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Michigan, Clemson, and California.

Here's a look at Johnson in his junior season.

What will the program that lands Johnson be getting in a receiver? Scout Louisiana recruiting analyst Mike Coppage weighs in on the four-star athlete, the country's #6-ranked receiver.

"Tyron Johnson solidified his standing as the top 2015 wide receiver in Louisiana at the New Orleans Nike SPARQ Combine, where he recorded the number 10 score out of more than 1,200 competitors. Johnson turned in a 4.52 in the 40 with a 4.31 shuttle for a SPARQ rating of 103.71.

"He's an explosive player who can take it to the house on any touch at either receiver or returning kicks and punts."

Johnson told Scout's Chad Simmons earlier this month that it was still early in the recruiting process, but that Texas Tech is high on his list, as well as LSU.

Coppage also weighs in on Johnson's recruitment, saying, "Texas A&M was believed to be his early leader but things have reportedly opened up since then, and he'll get a ton of attention during the spring eval period with talented teammates Arthur McGinnis (three-star LB), four-star 2016 receiver Clyde Leflore and three-star receiver Darrell Clark also drawing looks."
