University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino and offensive coordinator Garrick McGee made a lot of good connections in their time at the University of Arkansas.
Now coaching at the University of Louisville the two offensive gurus are trying to use those roots to try and snag a top recruit.
The Cardinals offered Bentonville, Ark., quarterback Kasey Ford on Wednesday. He's considered one of the top 2016 prospects in the state and a top QB in his class.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Ford connected on 107 of 185 passes as a sophomore for over 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also rushed for four TDs.
Ford was the MVP of the Class 7-A state title and completed 11 of 18 passes for 265 yards and three TDs in the title game win over Cabot.
While U of L is the first offer for Ford he's also getting a lot of attention from Arkansas.
Ford is also a pitcher for the Bentonville baseball team this spring.
