6-foot-6, 300-pound junior Ted Stieber has collected offers from Akron, Buffalo, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan. On Thursday, the offensive tackle picked up his first BCS offer.
"I got my first Big Ten offer from Rutgers today, said Stieber. "It was a little bit of a surprise, but I'm really excited about it."
Stieber says that it was two coaches that extended the offer.
"I talked with the offensive-line coach and coach (Ben) McDaniels, who is the area recruiter. They said they were really excited and want to get me out to campus," he said.
The junior admits that he doesn't know much about the school yet, but is looking forward to finding out more.
"I know they are a great academic school, but that's about it. I'm going to do a lot of research on them," said Stieber.
When asked how interested he is in the Scarlet Knights, Stieber simply replied, "Very."
"It's unreal. I've always wanted to play Big Ten football," he said.
