Irvin likes what Notre Dame has to offer
Notre Dame is expected to take two running backs and two cornerbacks in the class of 2015, and one prospect on its radar who could fit the bill for either is four-star Tim Irvin of Miami (Fla.) Westminster Christian. Irvin was offered by the Irish last spring and has established a good relationship with Irish recruiting coordinator Tony Alford. "I keep in touch pretty often with Coach Alford," Irvin said. "I'll either give him a call or we'll talk on Twitter. He's explained to me all about Notre Dame's alumni base and their current running backs and how the players on the team have a great relationship with each other. He thinks I could come in and make an impact." The 5-foot-9, 185-pound athlete is being recruited as an athlete by Notre Dame. "Coach Alford said he could see me playing defensive back or running back at Notre Dame, so they're recruiting me as an athlete right now," Irving said. Irvin, who described his running style as "shifty, fast and dynamic," has plans to visit a number of schools this spring and summer. "I'm going to see Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, and West Virginia," Irvin said. "Those are the ones on my list right now." Irvin says he plans to major in either engineering or business. "For me, education is going to be the most important part," Irvin said. "After football, you need an education. The environment is also important and how I see myself adapting to a new place." Irvin is still open to all schools at this point. "No favorites," he said. "I'm open to everyone. I'll take my five officials and decide sometime after that. Notre Dame could receive an official visit. I have family that lives in Indianapolis, so I've been to Indiana before but have never visited Notre Dame." Irvin visited Miami earlier this spring. He is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 36 cornerback in the class of 2015 by Scout.com.
