East Texas Weekly Recruiting Notebook

More than a dozen offers went out in East Texas this past week. Scout.com recaps all the action in the region for April 28 through May 4.

Nine players from East Texas picked up at least one new offer this past week, which saw four receive multiple offers.

Once again, Nacogdoches 2015 cornerback Jaylon Lane had a big week. Lane's offer list continued to push into the thirties with Monday offers from Penn State and Tennessee and a Saturday offer from TCU.

Longview 2015 offensive guard Broderick Washington not only got his first offer, but picked up two more as well. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Washington started the week with an Arkansas State offer, then got Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday and Houston on Friday.

Nacogdoches 2016 safety Brandon Jones also had a three-offer week to push his offer list further into the teens.The early four-star prospect got Nebraska and Louisiana Tech offers Wednesday, then picked up a Houston offer Friday.

The fourth East Texas prospect to get multiple offers was Tatum 2015 outside linebacker/safety Kyshaun Smith, who picked up his pair Tuesday. Houston and Memphis offered the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder, who told Scout.com that both schools have looked at him at either position.

Roney Elam, 2015 S, Newton -- Arkansas offered the four-star prospect Wednesday to give Elam double-digit offers.

Braylon Jones, 2016 DT, Tyler John Tyler -- another early Scout.com four-star, Jones got his first offer Wednesday from Navy.

Corey Lane, 2016 DB, Nacogdoches -- the younger brother of the aforementioned Jaylon Lane, Corey Lane also got his first offer, which came Wednesday from Louisiana Tech.

Erik McCoy, 2015 OG, Lufkin -- McCoy's increasing popularity continued with a North Texas offer Friday morning.

Rodney Bendy, 2015 WR, Tyler John Tyler -- another North Texas offer and another first offer came Saturday for the 6-foot-4 Bendy.
