Raymond Feeling the Love From TCU

The TCU Horned Frogs have been on Deshawn Raymond for a while now and it looks like their efforts might pay off. The 30th ranked CB in the nation spoke to HornedFrogBlitz.com about his interest in TCU and things are looking good for the Frogs.

It's been well documented in the past that TCU loves to recruit Louisiana, and why wouldn't they? Take one look at their roster and the fruits of their labor in the Pelican state are obvious. Deshawn Raymond is ranked as the 30th best CB in the nation by Scout.com and the talented defender spoke with HornedFrogBlitz.com about his interest in the Frogs. Could he keep the pipeline from Louisiana to Ft. Worth flowing?

"TCU came by my school today" said Raymond. "Coach Glasgow came by this morning and Coach Cumbie came by in the evening and watched practice."

With TCU showing a lot of interest, Raymond says the Frogs are definitely standing out to him. With a reputation as a defensive minded program, the Frogs have caught his attention and he wants to see what they have to offer up close.

"I know they want me to get to a camp so they can see me" he said. "I like that they're a defensive program and they had Jason Verrett and he could have gone anywhere in the country and he chose TCU because of their defense."

With offers on the table from TCU, Florida State, Georgia, Mississippi State and others, Raymond says more schools are coming by daily and he even picked up a new offer today.

"I don't really have a top five anymore since more schools are coming in all the time now" he said. "Nebraska offered me today and Tennessee came by too. They didn't offer, but they like me a lot."

While TCU is right in the thick of things, Raymond says he wants to see a few places before he makes his decision. But he does admit, things can change at any time.

"I want to see a few places first but anything can happen" he said. "I'm definitely going to get to TCU though, I'm already making my plans to come up there this summer."

At 6'1" and 180 pounds, Raymond is the prototypical corner for the Big 12. He likes the fact that the pass happy league can prepare him for the NFL but he's looking for much more than that.

"I'm really looking for a school where I can get a good degree" said Raymond. "I want to go somewhere that I can get established and feel comfortable. Everything I've heard about TCU is that it's like a family and that even after you've left, you can come back and they still treat you like family."

With the summer camp circuit fast approaching, we'll look for Raymond in Fort Worth in the near future. For TCU, it looks like things are falling into place.

"I'm definitely interested in TCU, they are looking really good to me" he said. "Even though a lot of other schools are coming through to see me, nobody shows me as much love as TCU."
