Missouri City (Tex.) Elkins
Committed to Texas Tech

Run Down: It got started with Fresno State and North Texas, two offers that he had around the previous year's National Signing Day. And while his only visit this off season was to Houston, Giles participated in a couple of combines and performed well. Soon after the Nike Football Training Camp, Giles started pulling in some offers from across the country. During the process, he never really claimed a favorite. Of course, when the offer from Houston came in, it was one that peaked his interest, mainly because he was a legacy seeing that his father played there. When the Texas Tech offer came in, it was said that it was a "dream school" for Giles, and not long after receiving the Red Raider offer, Giles committed. The idea of this was on his mind ever since the offer was extended.

What this means for Texas Tech: After watching film on Giles, it is clear that the ball needs to be in his hands. At Elkins, he gets plenty of opportunity to make plays as he takes every snap. Giles said on many occasions that college coaches liked the fact that he is a playmaker. And that is exactly what the Texas Tech program is getting. He would work great in the slot running the short and intermediate routes to get the ball in his hands quickly. With the offense ran down that way, Giles fits right in.

In the Words of Giles: "I love the coaches and they do a good job with the program. And I know they are doing something special over there and I want to be part of it."
