Lydon Fits Wisconsin's Mold

In the state of Florida looking for talent, Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda only needed to watch half a practice to realize Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake junior outside linebacker Carson Lydon fits the Badgers' scheme.

Defensive coordinator coach Dave Aranda recently has been traveling the Sunshine State looking to find that next best gem for Wisconsin and offered Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake junior outside linebacker Carson Lydon this past week.

"My coach told me in the middle of practice after they left," Lydon told BadgerNation. "I was very happy because obviously they have a great defense and are a very good team. I only know what Coach Aranda has told me, which is that they need some linebackers, but they are a very good team and are have sent many linebackers to the NFL the last several years.

"I am very interested in Wisconsin because they have a very good defense. I think I am going to visit them in the summer."

The 6-3, 220-pound linebacker holds offers from Boston College, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, NC State, Rutgers, South Alabama, South Florida, Syracuse, Central Florida, Virginia Tech and now Wisconsin. However, there is another Big Ten school that the three-star recruit is also interested.

"I think Rutgers is a very good program and that they are on the rise," said Lydon. "They are obviously a very good academic school and it is a good location to get your name out there. I will be taking a visit there this summer."

Lydon has an idea of some of the teams sticking out to him, but he is looking to see some campuses before making an early decision.

"I have schools that I like, but I don't have a top list yet," said Lydon. "I am not all sure where I will be going, but will decide at the end of spring football. I will commit before my season."
